General information

The Systems, Antennas and Radiopropagation Engineering Group (GISAR) is in the Communications Engineering Department (DICOM) of the University of Cantabria. The fundamental research activities of GISAR are in the areas of Antennas, Radiopropagation and Electromagnetic Compatibility. The group has a dilated experience in developing engineering tools (CAD) for the design and optimization of antennas, location of antennas on complex structures, radar cross section, radiopropagation analysis, and analysis of coupling and radiation from PCB´s. These tools are based in the application of both Low Frequency Numerical Techniques (MM, CG-FFT) and High Frequency approaches (GO/UTD and PO/PTD).

In the last few years, the focus of our work has been:

Development of software tools and experimental systems for the study of wireless communication systems in indoor and urban picocells, including broadband radiochannel simulation and measurement.
Development of software tools for the analysis of BOR antennas.
Development of software tools for the analysis, design and optimization of anechoic and semianechoic chambers using both low and high frequency methods as well as homogenisation.
Development of a near field experimental measurement system with EMC applications.
